March 2020 Meeting

The March 6th meeting is a special one as we honor the winner of the Grandparents’ Essay Contest. As usual, the meeting will begin at 10:00 at the Professional Development Center. The donations for this meeting will be personal care items for the Women’s and Children’s shelter. Please give generously to this worthy cause.
 
Lunch will be from Fazoli’s and you will have a choice of Chicken Fettucini Alfredo, or Lasagna. Contact Barbara Durham by Monday, March 2nd, at badurham@twc.com to make your lunch reservation. Be sure to include your lunch choice.

December 2019 Meeting

Our December meeting will be on Friday, December 6th, at the Professional Development Center. Registration starts at 9:30 and the meeting at 10:00. Brad and Jeanmarie Parrott will provide the entertainment. Lunch will be smoked ham, green beans, creamed corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, macaroni and cheese, rolls, and cherry cobbler from Tom’s Catering.

We need you to bring 3 items. Please bring canned goods for Henderson Christian Community Outreach. Also, bring your volunteer time sheets for the year and Gwen Brewer has asked that we bring aluminum can pull tabs to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House.

Scholarship Winner

Claybrook-3The Henderson County Retired Teachers Association has selected the 2019 scholarship recipient, Miss Meredith Claybrook of Henderson. Meredith is currently attending Murray State University-Henderson Regional Campus at Henderson Community College where she is an Elementary Education major. She has been on the Dean’s List each semester. Miss Claybrook earned her Associates Degree from Henderson Community College in 2018. She will be doing her student teaching in the Spring of 2020 and is excited for her future career as an educator.
