The next meeting of the HCRTA is Friday, Dec 1st at the Professional Development Center on Sixth St. Registration begins at 9:30 and the meeting at 10:00. Lunch will be beef stew, broccoli salad, roll, assorted desserts, and tea. Robin Turley’s son will provide the entertainment.

Our first meeting with new president Dora Caton is on Sept. 1st at 10:00a.m.  Registration begins at 9:30.  We will have someone from Frankfort to speak to us about insurance.  Lunch will be a 2 piece chicken dinner catered by Grandy’s.  Please bring school supplies for Central Academy and/or snack items to be donated to the Lucy Smith King Hospice Center.

The June HCRTA meeting will be at the Professional Development Center on Friday, June 2nd, at 10:00a.m. Registration starts at 9:30. Susan Morgan from the Extension Office will be the guest speaker. We will also be installing the new officers. Lunch will be catered by Thomason’s BBQ.

The Second District Retired Teachers Association and the Henderson County Retired Teachers Association are now accepting applications for scholarships. The scholarship is in the amount of $300 and is open to a Junior or Senior at an accredited college who is majoring in Education. The Henderson County Retired Teachers will meet on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10:00a.m. at the Professional Development Center. Our meal will be catered by The Whistle Stop. We will be having roasted pork tenderloin, gourmet mashed potatoes, green beans, dinner rolls, and peach cobbler. There will be a choice of iced tea or water to drink.

The requested items for donation are women’s toiletries to take to the Father Bradley Shelter.
